In 2021, Newsweek listed the best educated countries. The percentage of the population with the highest degree of education is used to rank each country.

To be clear, we do not equate educational attainment with intellect or wisdom, though there may be some relationships. This list can be used to spark conversation about the links between educational access and socioeconomic position, race, and other variables that are linked to higher educational achievement.
